Steven originately studied chemical science and worked as an engineer before coming to New Zealand. He later enhanced his knowledge in business administration by finishing a degree of MBA at HIT of North China， and working in several managial roles. After coming to New Zealand, Steven worked in a variaties of industries before going to studied the Graduate Certificate in Immigration Advice and obtained immigration adviser license .
